Kathleen's childhood was spent in Singapore before moving to Australia and the USA as a young adult. She worked as a graphic designer in Palmerston North, New Zealand for 15 years before moving to Edmonton, Canada in December 2002. She maintains close family ties with Singapore.
She made a late career switch into graphic design after doing a Masters degree in Human Physiology at Monash University, Australia, working for some years as a medical research assistant and training in medical and technical illustration.
Kathleen worked mainly in watercolour and colour pencil for many years before moving into digital and mixed media work. She became an exhibiting artist in the late 90's.
From early 2002 until December 2007, Kathleen was the editor/manager of Black Robin, a website for the visual arts. The website aimed to foster artists' links around the world.
Since moving to Canada she has worked extensively as a volunteer in the art sector and since 2006 has been involved with the Artists on The Wards programme (University of Alberta Hospital, Edmonton). She is currently pursuing formal art training.
